Hit and Run Accident: LCSC Staff reviewed footage of video for a hit/run accident. Video resulted in identification of the suspected vehicle. Video and photos given to Lancaster Police aided in the investigation. (October 2008)

Weapons: LCSC monitoring staff spotted an agitated subject at West Andrew and Beaver streets wielding a machete. Police Officers responded and subject was taken into custody before he was able to harm anyone. (August 2008)

Hit and Run: County 911 dispatched a vehicle description for a hit and run accident in the 100 block of Howard Ave. LCSC monitoring staff spotted this vehicle a short time later in the 400 block of North Queen St. and alerted the county. Police were able to catch up with the vehicle and charge the driver with the accident. (June 2008)

Fire: LCSC cameras caught a house fire on the 800 block of N Prince Street. LSCS monitoring staff sent live video to County 911 Dispatch. Dispatch was able to convey the sense of urgency and dispatch the appropriate Police and Fire department personnel. The Bureau of Fire requested a video of the house fire to be used for training purposes. (June 2008)

Vehicle Break-Ins: LCSC monitoring staff provided video of suspects involved in several vehicle break-ins in the Northeast and Northwest area of the city. A suspect was finally captured with the assistance of several alert citizens. (May 2008)

Warrant: County 911 Dispatch broadcasted a call for vandalism in the early morning hours in the 100 block of South Queen Street. LCSC monitoring staff spotted the suspects going down an alley and to the rear of the property. Police were able to locate the suspects based on information provided by the LCSC, which led to the arrest of one suspect on an outstanding warrant. (May 2008)

Fire: LCSC cameras witnessed a group of juveniles, possibly smoking marijuana and observed them setting a fire to mulch in a planter in the block. The homeowner extinguished the fire and the LCSC provided video and photos of the suspects. (April 2008)

Shots Fired: LCSC monitoring staff was aware of shots fired in the Northeast. A suspect was spotted in the area with gun. Police were notified and the suspect was taken into custody. This incident happened in close proximity to Ross Elementary School. (March 2008)

Intoxication: County 911 Dispatch broadcasted a call regarding a person who was very intoxicated and trying to get into a car and drive. The suspect fled the area. The LCSC monitoring staff found the suspect and directed police to his location. The suspect was arrested. (January 2008)

Reckless Driving: County 911 Dispatch broadcasted a call on the scanner for a reckless driver on Harrisburg Avenue. LSCS staff spotted him on East Chestnut turning North on Lime. He was later spotted by LCSC at North Queen and East Frederick. The suspect was observed pointing a handgun out the window of the vehicle. LCSC monitoring staff called County 911 Dispatch and police were able to stop the suspect two blocks later and found the gun in his possession. The suspect was charged with firing a handgun, reckless endangerment, and illegal possession of a handgun. (January 2008)

Theft from Vehicle:  A resident reported a theft from a vehicle on the 200 block of North Shippen Street, just beyond the view of an LCSC camera. A suspect matching the description was stopped by police at an intersection more than four blocks from the scene of the crime. Video footage from an LCSC camera on North Shippen Street captured the suspect fleeing the scene of the crime. Police reviewed the video and placed the suspect under arrest. (December 2007)

Drunk Driving: Monitoring staff noticed a vehicle driving recklessly on South Arch Street. Monitoring staff followed the vehicle while contacting police with its location and provided updates as they were en route to the call. Police stopped the vehicle, administered a field sobriety test, and arrested the suspect for driving under the influence of alcohol. To support the charge, LCSC supplied police with video footage of the suspect driving without lights and driving over a curb and coverage of the field sobriety test. (October 2007)

Theft: A gym bag with keys was stolen from someone playing softball at Conlin Field. The suspect returned with the keys and unsuccessfully attempted to steal the vehicle. Upon review of the video, the suspect was spotted on several cameras and he went into an address in the 100 block of South Prince Street. Monitoring staff notified police that the suspect and another individual entered a condemned building. Police arrived and charged both subjects with felony trespass and confirmed that one individual was the suspect from the earlier theft. (September 2007)

Domestic Disturbance in Progress: Police were dispatched to a report of a domestic fight. When the police arrived, the male suspect had fled the scene. LCSC monitoring staff located the suspect on a nearby camera and directed police to the individual. He was arrested. (July 2007)
