Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma (or GED) and proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft suite of office software is required. Security or law enforcement experience is helpful although comprehensive training is provided. Selected candidates will be trained to operate video equipment with proficiency, including keyboard, joystick, and computer mouse. Qualified applicants will be able to watch multiple video monitors while responding to radio/scanner communications and relaying timely and accurate information via telephone to emergency personnel. S/he will also be able to remain calm and set priorities in emergency situations. All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and FBI criminal background check. Individuals having at least one year Lancaster City residency and/or excellent knowledge of city streets and locations are preferred.

- All applicants’ backgrounds will be checked prior to employment. We will investigate the accuracy of data provided in the application process for all applicants before appointment to the staff can be made.
- This background investigation may include, but is not limited to, reference checking with past employers, the military, schools, appropriate volunteer agencies, police and other government agencies.
- The LCSC is a “Drug Free” workplace. A pre-employment drug screening (at the agency’s expense) is required prior to employment.
