Since 2005, the video safety cameras monitored by the Lancaster Community Safety Coalition have enhanced law enforcement efforts and served as a deterrent to crime and disorder. Despite these successes, we may never know how many crimes DIDN’T occur because security cameras were in place. LCSC's services have proven to be an invaluable asset to the community, police and other first responders with the following types of incidents:
- Vandalism
- Auto theft
- Thefts from vehicles
- Burglaries
- Robberies
- Concealed weapons
- Gang activities
|
- Prostitution
- Assaults / shootings
- Arson
- Drug use / dealing
- Hit-and-run auto accidents
- Reckless endangerment of a child
- Disorderly conduct

The examples provided, sorted by year, are a representative sampling of incidents in which active monitoring and video recordings led to arrests or aided in police investigations. The success of this initiative is a result of unprecedented collaborative efforts between the Lancaster Bureau of Police, Lancaster County-Wide Dispatch, the community, and the LCSC.
