Additional Results in 2009

On Christmas Day Police spotted a vehicle which had been reported as stolen. When Police went to question the vehicle’s occupants they took off and wrecked the car a short time later. Both suspects in the vehicle fled. Police caught one of them and he was taken into custody. He denied that he had been driving the vehicle but footage from a LCSC camera conclusively proved that he was in fact driving the vehicle when it crashed. (December 2009)

Police received a call about a vehicle that was being operated without the consent of the owner. LCSC cameras spotted the vehicle while it was parked and notified County 911.  Police were alerted and waited in the area of the car. When the subject started to leave with the vehicle LCSC notified County 911 and police were able to stop the vehicle and take the subject into custody. (November 2009)

Theft: A call for suspicious activity was received by the County 911 Call Center. LCSC monitoring staff quickly spotted the suspect who had broken into a couple vehicles and was seen trying to enter others. The Police were quickly alerted and LCSC staff continued to follow the subject until he was stopped by officers. He was found to be wanted for a parole violation and was charged with the vehicle break ins. (November 2009)

Fight: LCSC monitoring staff noticed a disturbance in the Southwest area of the city on Saturday night and called in to County 911 dispatch. As police were dispatched, the group numbering about 10 to 12 started fighting. Police arrived and took three into custody, two after a brief foot pursuit which was caught on camera as well as the fight. (September 2009)

Vehicle Theft: LCSC monitoring staff witnessed a subject entering a police “bait vehicle”. The vehicle was driven to a parking lot and the subject exited the vehicle, they spotted the Police and fled into a house. Monitoring staff was able to direct police to the house where he was taken into custody. (June 2009)

Theft: LCSC monitoring staff spotted two subjects in the Northeast area of the City trying to break into vehicles. They eventually got into one and stole several items. The Police were alerted and they apprehended the subjects two blocks away from where the crime occurred. (May 2009)

Domestic Violence: LCSC monitoring staff spotted a subject who was involved in a domestic situation and reported his whereabouts to Police. The Police were able to catch up with him and took him into custody. In addition to the domestic he was wanted on an outstanding warrant as well as other serious charges from a recent incident involving a gun. (May 2009)

Weapons: Police received a call about possible weapons on N. Prince St. A LCSC Camera System Operator alerted police to the house where the suspect had entered. Police apprehended him based on that information and recovered the weapon.  (March 2009)

Vandalism: LCSC supplied video to Police that was used to identify a vandalism suspect. (March 2009)

Fight: Camera system operators called in fights on two different occasions that lead to the arrest of four people with outstanding warrants as well as new charges for assault. (March 2009)

Drug Dealing: LCSC monitoring staff assisted Police with working details targeting drug dealing in a particular area. Video has proved useful in obtaining an arrest warrant for one suspect. (January 2009)

Drunk and Disorderly: LCSC monitoring staff observed several subjects drinking in public, subjects were also underage. Police arrived and arrested one subject for public drunkenness and resisting arrest. (January 2009)

Warrants: LCSC monitoring staff observed a subject who has been throwing trash and breaking bottles in various parts of the City was taken into custody after camera system operators spotted this subject and directed Police to his location. He was arrested on various outstanding warrants. (January 2009)

Domestic Violence: LCSC monitoring staff responded to a call for a domestic violence incident. LCSC staff heard on the police scanner that the suspect had left the residence and was spotted almost immediately in the area. The subject's whereabouts were reported and Police were able to apprehend him. He was found to have outstanding warrants and charges were also filed for domestic violence. (January 2009)
